Example 03 · Anything can be an instrument

Hand instrument

Fingers as an instrument: pinch, fists, four pattern families.

Try these three things

  1. Turn on 🖐 hands. Pinch thumb and index of your right hand: the figure tightens. Pinch thumb and middle finger: it grows arms.
  2. Close your left fist: the pattern changes between mandala, lissajous, spirograph and web.
  3. No camera? Play the on-screen piano: the notes move the figure too.

Needs: Camera (hands). No hardware? Use On-screen piano · Drum machine.

Read these lines

  • main.js:46–47 The piano works without a camera.
  • main.js:219–226 Each pinch reaches a param through a route: the world never reads the hand.
